What is Speer Trust?

The Presbyterians’ mandate for use of this gift states:

“We believe that the integrity of our  use of this fund will be revealed not only in the new spiritual horizons which will be opened through our helping people who are poor but also through our working together with them in a spirit of compassion.”

Who benefits from

Speer funds?

The main purpose of the fund is to assist

organizations of people who live in Delaware or

the Eastern Shore of Maryland and have low

incomes to gain control over their own lives as

they address the root causes of poverty.  To

accomplish this, funds are awarded to

organizations working in partnership with

Presbyterians mutually committed to making their community a better place to live.
